Procedure:

Potassium iodide was dissolved in water in a 50ml beaker. 

Dissolve iodine in this solution.

Add glycerin and peppermint oil previously dissolved in alcohol to the above solution.

Make up the volume with water.

Store in a cool, dry place away from light.

Replace cap tightly after use.

Applied to the throat with cotton or camel hairbrush.

Do not drink water immediately after application.
