All India Pharmaceutical Association Consortium Launches Programme to Empower MSMEs in Pharma Sector
The All India Pharmaceutical Association Consortium (AIPAC) is set to launch its maiden programme aimed at empowering professionals from Micro, Small, and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs) in the pharmaceutical industry. The event, themed “Symposium on Dissolution Science & Technology for QA, QC, R&D and Regulatory Professionals of Pharma,” will take place on December 12, 2024, at the Prestige Institute of Management & Research, Indore.
Focus on MSMEs and Skill Development
Dr. Rajeev Singh Raghuvanshi, Drugs Controller General of India (DCGI), will inaugurate the event. This initiative, spearheaded by AIPAC in collaboration with organizations like SPDS, IDMA-MP, and MPSDMA, aims to bridge the knowledge gap for MSMEs, helping them produce high-quality medicines that meet global standards.
Dr. Raghuvanshi previously highlighted the financial barriers MSME professionals face in accessing premium industry events, which led to the formation of AIPAC. The consortium now provides a cost-effective platform for training and skill development tailored for MSMEs, supported by regulatory authorities such as the Central Drugs Standard Control Organization (CDSCO) and State FDA.
Key Highlights of the Programme
The event will feature comprehensive sessions addressing critical topics:
- Dissolution Testing and Method Development: Sessions by experts like Dr. Padma Devarajan (SPDS) and Dr. Rupesh Kelaskar (FDC Limited) will focus on evolving regulatory scenarios, discriminatory dissolution methods, and critical parameters in dissolution testing.
- Quality Control and Assurance: Insights into common deviations during dissolution testing will be presented by Sonalika Parashar (Cipla).
- Advanced Analytical Techniques: Industry leaders will discuss cutting-edge approaches in validation, verification, and dissolution apparatus types.
A panel discussion titled “What Care Needs to Be Taken During Dissolution Testing? Common Flaws” will be moderated by Dr. Rajiv Desai, featuring esteemed panelists like Rajendra Dadhich (IPCA) and Vijay Kshirsagar (SPDS).
Collaboration and Vision
The symposium is supported by prominent organizations, including Sotax, a leader in dissolution testing solutions, and SPDS, known for its global efforts in pharmaceutical dissolution science.
Dr. L. Ramaswamy, founder and national convener of AIPAC, will outline the consortium’s vision to create a robust platform for MSMEs to enhance competitiveness through affordable training and skill development.
Dr. Darshan Kataria, president of MPSDMA, and Paresh Chawla of IDMA-MP, will provide insights into challenges MSMEs face in drug manufacturing and quality assurance.
Empowering Future Pharma Leaders
More than 150 delegates are expected to attend, including pharmaceutical professionals, regulatory authorities, and academics. The event will also welcome Master’s and PhD students, ensuring the next generation of professionals gains exposure to cutting-edge knowledge in pharmaceutical sciences.
A Catalyst for Growth
By addressing the unique challenges faced by MSMEs, AIPAC’s initiative is set to elevate the pharmaceutical sector, ensuring compliance with evolving standards while fostering innovation and scientific excellence.
