Yashwantrao Bhonsale College of Pharmacy affiliated with the University of Mumbai has secured a “B+ grade” with a 2.71 CGPA in the first assessment cycle of the National Assessment and Accreditation Council (NAAC). It has become the first pharmacy college in the country which had applied as soon as qualified for NACC inspection and was rated under the revised new criteria of NACC in just the sixth year after the college’s inception (Estd. 2015). As part of the evaluation round, the NAAC peer team visited the college on the 8th and 9th of December 2021 and the result was declared on the 14th Dec. 2021.
The Self-Assessment Report (SSR) submitted by the college to NAAC is evaluated for a total of seven criteria including Curriculum Aspects; Teaching-learning and Evaluation; Research-Innovations and Extension; Infrastructure and Learning Resources; Student Support and Progression; Governance, Leadership and Management; Institutional Values and Best Practices. The college scored the highest CGPA score of 3.65 for Curriculum Aspects, followed by 3.05 for Institutional Values and Best Practices, 2.84 for Infrastructure and Learning Resources and 2.68 for Governance, Leadership and Management.

Currently, only 32 Colleges of Pharmacy are NAAC accredited as per NACC valid information in Maharashtra. More than 10 of them are from the Pune district, Nashik, and Nagpur districts. Yashwantrao Bhonsale College of Pharmacy is the only college in Sindhudurg which conducts Bachelor’s and master’s degrees in pharmacy and has been recognized by NACC.
