Disorders of the lymphatic system

- Castleman disease: Castleman disease is a rare condition that affects the lymph nodes and can cause fever, fatigue, and enlarged lymph nodes.
- Kaposi’s sarcoma: Kaposi’s sarcoma is a rare form of cancer that can affect the lymphatic system and other organs. It can cause purple or red skin lesions and may be associated with HIV infection.
- Elephantiasis: Elephantiasis is a condition in which the lymphatic vessels become blocked by parasitic worms, leading to severe swelling in the affected area.
Treatment for lymphatic system disorders depends on the specific condition and its severity. Treatment may include medications, surgery, or lymphatic drainage therapy. It is important to consult a medical professional if you experience symptoms of a lymphatic system disorder.
